God's Word is Sufficient

God's Word is Sufficient
Battle For Your Life counselors believe in the co-existence and co-equality of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and we accept the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God. We believe the Word of God contains the healing and converting spirit of Christ Jesus (John 6:63) and it provides the sole solutions to life's problems. We see the Bible as the source of all truth and believe "All scripture was inspired by God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16. Our counselors therefore study and prescribe the Word of God, as we believe it contains instructive and restorative power to heal the soul, physical body and spirit.

The Holy Spirit as Counselor
In a world where traumatic life circumstances, marital issues and overwhelming emotions are leading many towards finding destructive means to escape or down a path of sickness and disease, we need the wise and transformative counsel of the Holy Spirit to give us guidance, reveal truth and to give us a future of hope. In John 14:26 Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as the Counselor and our Teacher and in John 16:13 Jesus describes Him as the Spirit of truth, however, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. Through His divine power and wisdom our counselors offer life-changing solutions to individuals and couples so as to help them find joy, wholeness and purpose in their lives and marriages again.

In addition to wise counseling, the Holy Spirit gives individuals the strength and comfort they need to tolerate the potential distresses that may arise during the counseling and healing process. Understandably, some persons become overwhelmed at the mere thought of doing what is necessary to save their lives and marriages. This is one of the reasons our counselors advise couples and congregations especially to encourage one another daily, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin Hebrews 3:13. The battle for change is not easy but we do believe it will be worth it after all.

Preparation For the Battle!
Believers have the right to experience joy, peace and wholeness in their lives and marriages but Satan, the adversary, has come to steal, kill and destroy. Before joy and wholeness can be restored, individuals and couples must first go to war against the enemy in an effort to take back what is rightfully theirs. Battling against the enemy does require strong spiritual awareness and the ability to plan strategically given the fact that Satan is very clever and cunning in his ways. Thankfully, this is where the Battle For Your Life counselors come in. Battle For Your Life counselors offer tactical and spiritually enriched counseling that is intended to help individuals wage successful war in the spirit. For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 24:6.

We believe our wise counsel comes from the person of the Holy Spirit and unless individuals first consult with Him, the degree of intensity of the spiritual battle will not be known. Without a good understanding of the nature of the battle, persons might show up for war underprepared and this could greatly frustrate their plan of victory. In Luke 14:31 Jesus reinforces the importance of consideration before taking on a great challenge, a lesson that is applicable to spiritual warfare, "Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won't he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?" Likewise, we need the infallible counsel of the Holy Spirit before we can engage in spiritual warfare.

Weapons for the Battle
There are several spiritual weapons needed for effective warfare and most are mentioned in Ephesians 6:13-18. "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints." There are additional weapons that are simply not acknowledged as weapons. These forgotten weapons are: The name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus and the power of the person Holy Spirit, Himself. Prayer is the only way to activate all spiritual weaponry. We believe persons must be trained on how to accurately utilize all weapons in order to accomplish victory.

The Battle
The battles fought by Christians on a daily basis are comprised of three major components; the physical, the spiritual and the inner component. The physical battle refers to the physical manifestation of our struggles for example; arguments, fatigue, disease, poverty and malice. The inner battles are the ones that are fought within the soul (mind, will and emotions of individuals and those battles are not always visible with the naked eyes. Depression, anxiety, stress, rejection and unforgiveness are examples of inner battles that are fought by individuals on a daily basis. The spiritual battle is the intense battle that exists between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness within the realm of the spirit and this is where Christians fight all of their battles. We believe the counsel of the Holy Spirit leads to effective spiritual warfare strategies which then triggers the physical and inner-related components to align with the healing and restorative supply of the Kingdom of Heaven. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12.

As mentioned earlier depending on their intensity, some battles do require that persons make specific adjustments to their physical and spiritual lives. A physical adjustment could mean a change in one's schedule to make time for one's family while a spiritual adjustment could mean spending more time in prayer and fasting or spending more time in the Word of God. When it comes to prayer and especially spiritual warfare, our counselors believe in the effective use of the strategy mentioned by Jesus in Mark 3:27, No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

The Victory
Victory is achieved when individuals, couples and congregations apply the infallible strategies and counsel of the Holy Spirit to their lives and marriages. The journey to victory begins with acknowledging the Word of God as the source of all truth and accepting the Holy Spirit as our wonderful Counselor and Teacher. With His help, we can experience complete healing, deliverance and restoration in our souls, marriages (and congregations) by fighting against the adversary strategically, after wise counsel and instruction has been provided. If you're currently experiencing difficulties in your personal life or marriage, our advice is that you seek the wise and empowering counsel of the Holy Spirit through Christian Counseling services. Last but not least, we do pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers 3 John 1:2.
